Figured that it was time for school pics for the kiddies. I get tired of the same old blah background shots. I guess that's fine for the yearbook. However, for my wall (and my money), I thought that I'd like something different.

C4 Kids Gallery - Dalton and Blake.
You would almost think that these two grew up in front of the camera. Both of them have a natural knack for posing and controlling their emotion. We had a great shoot at Bullfrog Valley Park and Schenk Park in Derry Township. The barn at Schenk Park was a great place to shoot. There are also a multitude of sports fields for shooting. All in all, it was a great day.

Senior Gallery - Emily
Things have been running rampant lately. I've barely had enough time to think let alone shoot and post here. However, I've managed to get some shooting time in. Here is Emily. She was a cinch to work with and has a natural relationship with the camera. We actually did 2 sessions. The first was around Harrisburg proper. The second was a night shoot at Italian Lake. These are all from the first session back on October 11.

C4 Kids Gallery - Alyssa
'Twas a perfect sunset tonight and I asked Alyssa if she wanted to go for a quick shoot. I remembered my boom stand, beauty dish, camera bag and strobe. Forgot the camera. AAAARGH. Fortunately, we were only about 10 minutes from the house so we hurried back home to grab the D70. Had a blast shooting these pics. As an aside, she looks just like her mom. I overlaid one of these pics on one of my wife's senior shots from 19xx and the likeness is astonishing.

C4 DIY - Undertaking some DIY Strobist projects.
I've undertaken some DIY Strobist-type projects. I hope to post my builds complete with pics of the project and of the results. I'll also post links to the creators where appropriate. I certainly don't want to take credit for anything that I didn't come up with myself. You can follow these builds on my lighting blog - GenericLightingSite.com.

C4 Family Gallery - The Morrison's
The Morrison's are a great family that attend the same church as my family. They needed to update their prayer card. I was honored to do it for them.
Cheers,
Steve

C4 Photography - Flash Site
I have added a flash version of the site. It's under construction now but I wanted to get the link out.
It can be found by clicking HERE.
Should be pretty cool when it's up and running smooth. For now, it's a contact page.
Cheers,
Steve

C4 Pet Gallery - Hailey
Here is Hailey. She's a shorthair that's long on attitude. We rescued her about 4 years ago. Then, she wouldn't look anyone in the face and spent much of the time with her hair on end. Now, she is an attention hound that is very at home curled up beside a warm body. My daughter picked her out. We're glad she did.
Cheers,
Steve

C4 Big People Gallery - Becky
Ahhhhh, my favorite model. I've heard it said that when building a website, it's bad to show too many shots of your wife and kids. Well, I disagree. Why wouldn't I show the most important people in my life? Here are some shots of my wife earlier this summer taken at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg and Fort Hunter Park in Harrisburg. Enjoy

Generic Lighting becomes a reality
Ever since I've started to seriously shoot with Speedlights, I've thought of creating a blog to keep track of my progress. Well, today, that became a reality with the launching of Generic Lighting. So- it's not much to look at now. Give it some time. Rome wasn't built in a day, either.

Important Downloads.
This post will detail the importand downloads that you may need. I'll list each one and give a brief description on why you need it.
Consent Forms
These consent forms are simply that. Consent to have your picture (or your child's picture) made. I do not require model releases as a general practice. For 99% of the work that I do, they are not required. If a release is necessary, we'll cover that on an individual basis.
Adult Consent Form
Minor Consent Form
Ordering Guide
This guide will show you all of the different ways that I can split an 8x10. Trust me... You would rather see this file than try to have me explain it.
Ordering Form
Ummm, OK. Maybe you don't need a description here...
More to follow as I think about it.
Cheers

I've scheduled a shoot, now what???
This section of the site will be dedicated to helping clients with what to expect when it comes time for their shoot. It will be a collection of links from around the web that I feel will be helpful when it comes to clothing choices, posing ideas, and locations. You will also find materials that will be useful in ordering and other stuff that you'll need to be prepared for the shoot (model releases, etc).
You can use the links below to make some sort of order out of things... I'll add them as they come available.

From the same shoot as this post, here is a shot of my parents.
Oh, and a gratuitous shot of my dad and I.

C4 Pet Gallery - Jasmine
This is Jasmine. She was diagnosed with liver cancer this summer and unfortunately is no longer with us. Fortunately, I took this shot a while back and it truly captures the dignity that she had to the very end. She was a part of my parent's lives for many years and was the perfect companion. She was the epitome of grace and elegance and debunked every stereotype ever laid on the Rottweiler breed.
She'll be sorely missed by all that were close to her.

C4 Pet Gallery - Tyson
Here are some shots of my favorite only dog. His name is Tyson and he's a genius as a model*. Anyway, here are the best from the shoot. Hope you enjoy. I'm sure he'll be making the rounds again soon.

About C4 Photography
C4 Studios. Your full service lifestyle photographer...
Located just outside of picturesque Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, C4 Studios strives to be the photographer for all of your needs. Specializing in personal portraits of individuals and families, C4 Studios makes the most of your time both inside and outside the studio. Being a self-taught photographer, I have learned that sometimes, in order to capture that perfect moment, rules need to be set aside. Accordingly, I prefer to have my clients do their sessions in an outdoor environment. This usually makes for a more relaxed session and really brings out individual personalities. My goal is to create portraits that reflect who you are. Creating that specific moment in time. That one brief glimpse into the soul of my client. That is what I strive for. That is what sets C4 Studios apart from the competition.
